I have put olive oil on both my scalp and length of my hair and this washed it out completely. My long hair feels a little crispy when I use this if I don't use enough conditioner. It has helped when my hair was even dyed bright red with semi-permanent dye. I'd estimate it as giving me probably two or three more washes with brighter color than a regular shampoo.
It doesn't fade my hair as fast as much as normal shampoos, even when my hair was dyed jet black. This is not the best color-protecting shampoo that I have used, but for the price I'd say that it is pretty good. It's definitely a great smell and it works best with the matching conditioner.
It locks scents into my hair for several days. It's very fruity/floral mix but it's definitely feminine. It doesn't hurt it but it certainly doesn't protect it or lock it in for any extra weeks. On a downfall though, it doesn't help color as it claims to do. It does a great job of cleansing, moisturizing, keeping dandruff down, and lathers and has a nice scent. Bottle design is always a big deal for me and the bottle is recyclable. It surely didn't hurt it either though on that note. It claims that it's more gentle and will allow you to keep your color glowing weeks longer but I just don't see it. True Reasonably priced, solid shampoo for color treated hair 'Color Me Happy' has a fantastic floral scent. Moisturizes your hair and protects the added hair coloring-gently washes your hair without erasing the hair coloring. 'Color Me Happy' Shampoo also has a matching conditioner. If you don't have you hair colored again, at that point, your hair looks funny, but that's how good this shampoo is at maintaining added hair coloring. This shampoo protects hair coloring from being washed away, long after your roots grow out. Only when your hair grows naturally and your roots show can anyone ever know that your hair is dyed. 'Color Me Happy' enhances the color, emphasizes highlights, and the color stays in your hair longer. Other shampoos are harsh, strip the color from your hair within several washings. 'Color Me Happy' is to be used on colored hair. This shampoo is with paying extra money for because of the dependable bounce, shine, fullness, and protection of the individual hair it delivers to your hair. I first used 'Herbals Essence' brand 30 years ago and loved it. It is my go-to shampoo and the one that I would say is my absolute favorite. I use it at least 3-4 times a week and have been using it for years.
You simply cannot beat the price of this shampoo. It puts life in my hair and always makes it look clean and refreshed. They tend to weigh my hair down and make it look greasy. A lot of other shampoos are not like that. With this shampoo, I can skip a day and wash every other day. I have hair that can get very, very oily and really needs to be washed daily. It creates a thick lather and cleans like it is supposed to. The smell of it is very nice and pleasant. This shampoo simply works and it helps to protect my color at the same time. I continue to go back to this shampoo every time that I try something different. I have tried ones that can only be bought in the salon. I have tried a lot of different shampoos.
